Continous Releases!
Our production is very small, so our lineup of wines changes often. Our 2005 Rose, Chardonnay and Sunset sold out and we've been holding back a few bottles of our Syrah, so they've been replaced in our product list with new vintages and different wines. We've found that a process of multiple releases during the year helps us manage the space in our small winery and gives our customers lots of opportunities to stop in and sample something new. That means you need to visit the tasting room or check out our list of available wines frequently. You can also sign up for our mailing list and receive our electronic newsletter or an occasional post card!
We're the sort of people that you describe, when you're being polite, as "individuals". We do tend to go our own way, so I guess it isn't surprising that our labels are a little bit different, too. Okay, okay, so maybe they're a lot different, but we wanted something you were likely to recognize when you saw it a second time. We think we've got a label that reflects our individuality and our love for the place where we make our wines, and does it in a way you may just remember.
Our daughter painted the red boot for our most unique wine - a cofermented wine made from a different mix of red varietals, the varietals "rustled" from our San Saba County vineyard one year. The 2005 version is a blend of Barbera, Merlot and Zinfandel and is awesome with a good brisket. The 2006 is nearly ready to bottle and the barrel tasters are enthusiastic. This one is primarily Syrah, so it will have a different flavor profile coupled with more color and intensity, thanks to the drought in 2006. 2006 Vintage
One note about the 2006 vintage - the drought was severe, so all of our fruit was somewhat shriveled from water loss by the time it was picked. That means less wine per ton, but it also meant very concentrated flavors, elevated sweetness and exceptional color. The downside is that we'll probably sell out quickly, so don't be a stranger - come taste these great wines.
