Pecan Country

San Saba County and the adjoining counties are home to beautiful orchards of pecan trees. You'll find the area crisscrossed with rivers and streams with many of the orchards nestled in river bottoms and around area lakes. One of the true pioneers in the development of the pecan industry started his work in an orchard in San Saba and you'll find many of his varieties growing throughout the region.
